Kings XI Punjab registered a thrilling win over Mumbai Indians in the second super over and after the defeat, captain Rohit Sharma didn’t come to the post-match presentation. His deputy Kieron Pollard attended it explained the reason of Rohit’s absence as well.
"I was told that he's (Rohit) not feeling well, that's why I'm here to chat with you guys. We'll see what happens but he's a fighter," said Pollard.
Kieron Pollard also applauded Jasprit Bumrah, saying that he is a "world-class cricketer" and he has been doing his job quite well in the absence of Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga, who has pulled out his name from Indian Premier League 2020 owing to "personal reasons". Notably, he has taken 15 wickets in nine matches so far.

"He's (Bumrah) a world-class cricketer. He has been number one in a couple of formats for a long period of time. He has learned and has gone leaps and bounds for us at Mumbai Indians in a run of while and so," Pollard said at the post-match press conference.
"We have comfort in him. A couple of years ago, we had a fit and fair Lasith Malinga and he (Bumrah) has taken over that mantle now and so," he further added.
The game between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Mumbai Indians (MI) witnessed two back-to-back Super Overs. In the first Super Over, Bumrah bowled superbly and gave away only five runs. However, it was Mohammad Shami who successfully restricted Mumbai Indians to five and the game reached the second super over and KXIP ended up winning the game as well.
"We will look back and analyse the game and we will come up with a better plan and hopefully get two points in the next game," added Pollard.
Mumbai Indians are now placed at the second position in the points table, after Delhi Capitals and will play against Chennai Super Kings in their next match on Friday.
