After a comfortable eight-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi, defending champions Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has revealed that there could be seen a change in the second half of the tournament where more teams will win while chasing.

While chasing the total of 149, Mumbai Indians reached the target with 3.1 overs to spare where Quinton de Kock remained unbeaten on 78 as well.

"It's special to chase and win like this, gives us a lot of confidence. In the first half of the tournament, teams chasing were losing. The trend is changing now, I believe the teams batting second will win more matches in the second half of the tournament," he said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

After the win, Rohit Sharma also opened up on a few things where he said that it's also important to be instinctive. To clear his saying, he also gave the example of Andre Russell's dismissal where Jasprit Bumrah removed him with a sharp bouncer. Bumrah also dismissed him in their first meeting as well.

"I believe a lot in match-ups, it has given us success as a team. We study on which bowler I can bowl to certain batsmen and things like that. What you do on the field is also important, you have to be very instinctive. I still bowled Krunal and Rahul to Andre Russell. I thought the ball was turning and gripping a little and I took my chances there. But I knew Bumrah was the go to guy for him," he revealed.

With six wins from eight games, Mumbai Indians are currently placed at the top of the points table. They will next take on Kings XI Punjab on Sunday (October 18) in Dubai.
