Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a stunning 69-run win over Kings XI Punjab which helped them to be placed at the third spot in the points table as well. However, there were a few stunning performances which also included the captain David Warner and Jonny Bairstow’s winning foundation of 160 runs for the first wicket.

While Warner scored 52 off 40 with 5 fours and a six, his opening partner Jonny Bairstow registered a scintillating 97 off 55 with 7 fours and 6 sixes as well.

Although they lost a few wickets in between, Kane Williamson’s unbeaten 20 off 10 and Abhishek Sharma’s 6-ball 12 helped Hyderabad reached the 200-run mark as they ended up scoring 201 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs.
Despite the trembling situation of Punjab, Nicholas Pooran tried his best with a 77 from 37 balls with 5 fours and 7 sixes.

His knock gave trouble to the opposition. To which Warner said, "I was a bit nervous while Nicholas was hitting it over the stands. I have always had high prospects of that kid. I was fortunate to play in Bangladesh with him. You always think, 'What can I do, how can I get him out?'."

However, it was Rashid Khan, who sent Pooran in the pavilion. "He's (Rashid) a world-class bowler, it's great to have him. He always delivers in pressure situations. He loves that stuff. What a player,” Warner added while speaking about Rashid Khan.

He also shared his views on the partnership. He said, "We love batting with each other. We pride ourselves in running hard between wickets. At the moment, I am just rotating strike for him (Bairstow). We enjoy batting with each other. We tried to negate the swing by coming at them (KXIP bowlers). We have got a tough game against RR, a day game, have to start fresh again."
