India captain Virat Kohli has revealed that he was scared to hit the nets for the very first time in five months but also said that his first training session prior to the cash-rich league went "better than expected".
Kohli will also lead Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the upcoming IPL and he has resumed his training after a five-month COVID-19 imposed break. However, other RCB players like - Dale Steyn and RCB team director Mike Hesson have attended the net session.
"(It went) much better than expected, to be honest. I was pretty scared. I hadn't picked up a bat for five months, but yeah it came out better than I thought, to be honest," Virat Kohli was quoted as saying by the franchise's website.

The captain also added that he tried his best to stay fit during the lockdown which helped him to do well during the net session.
"I've trained quite a bit during the lockdown, so I'm feeling quite fit and that helps. Because the body is light and you react better, I feel like I have more time on the ball. That's a big plus," he said.
"Otherwise you come heavier into the season, the body isn't moving as much, and it starts playing on mind, but yeah, as I said it went much better than I expected," he further shared.
RCB has reached to Dubai last week prior to the 13th edition of IPL which will begin on September 19 and end on November 10. The team started their net session on Saturday after having a successful ending of their quarantine period.
Apart from Kohli, the spin trio - Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar and Shahbaz Nadeem along with other pace bowlers have also their first net session.
"The spinners looked pretty good for day one, they pitched the ball in consistent areas for long enough," said Kohli. "Shahbaz was good, Washy (Washington) was very good, I saw Chahal bowl well too. The seamers went through their motions a little bit. All in all, a decent start to our camp."
