13th edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to begin from September 19 in the UAE. While all the teams have started their preparations, Royal Challengers Bangalore are eyeing to their maiden IPL title. However, the squad has all bases covered for the league – be it batting batting, bowling and their new coaching staff, Mike Hesson and Simon Katich.
Recently, RCB director of cricket Hesson and head coach Katich opened up about their plans in a webinar for the upcoming cash-rich league which has made three IPL finals but failed to win the title once despite having quality players like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Chris Morris, Isuru Udana, Kane Richardson, Dale Steyn, Yuzvendra Chahal etc.

"We were very clear about our death bowling and wanted to make sure we got it covered. We went into the auction wanting to fix that," said Hesson. "We have got Udana, Morris, Richardson, Steyn. Navdeep Saini has done the job nicely and our spinners too will play a big part. We got Chahal who is exceptional bowler and a nice mix of spinners (Shahbaz Nadeem, Pawan Negi, Moeen Ali).”
He added, "We think we are not so much reliant on our batting and have a balanced unit."
Meanwhile, Australia's limited-overs captain Aaron Finch has been added in the batting unit and that will ease the pressure from the shoulder of Kohli and de Villiers
"We were looking for guys at the top of their game in international cricket. Finch was high on that list. As a player and captain, he has done well for Australia. He is a good player of spin and brings leadership in the group," he shared.
