Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin said that they haven’t made any decision regarding the inclusion of Mahmudullah in the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, comprising three-match Test series.
Bangladesh Cricket Board is eyeing to send a big squad as precaution measures but whether Mahmudullah make a cut in the squad remains a big question considering his Test future hanging in balance after he was discarded from the longer-version set-up after the historic tour of Pakistan in Rawalpindi January.
Mahmudullah was asked to focus on white-ball cricket by none other than head coach Russell Domingo as he initiated the move to inform the 34-year-old that he isn't part of their Test plans for the immediate future.

’We haven’t make any decision regarding Mahmudullah,’’ said Minhajul.
‘’Let the coach come and we will sit the coach and captain before making the final call. But whether he is there or not someone or the other will get chance due to the prevailing situation and he must grab it,’’ he said indicating that they did not moved away from the decision of thinking life without Mahmudullah in Test format.
If Mahmudullah eventually doesn’t make the cut it can be considered as a severe blow for him as Tigers are unlikely to play any Test during the remaining part of the year.
Mahmudullah was axed from the white ball contract of BCB as well but despite everything going against him as far as playing longer version cricket, Mahmudullah said on quite a few occasion following the Test snub that he is not ready to give up Test cricket and will be eyeing to make a comeback sooner than later.
