Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is planning to send an extended contingent of about 45 players of the National Team and the High Performance (HP) Team alongside 20-25 more support staff to Sri Lanka during the last week of September.
Bangladesh Cricket team will play the first two Tests against hosts Sri Lanka at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium (PICS) in Kandy while the third and final Test of the Three-match Test series will be worked off in Colombo.

The Test will commence at the PICS on October 24 without playing any formal practice match.
According to the close sources in BCB, the two boards - BCB and the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC)- have agreed to play only three Tests under the World Test Championship (WTC). Both the cricket boards were in discussions to add any other format of games but the discussion has been ended with no further development, meaning that there would not be any additional match whether it is T20I or ODI on this tour.
The BCB and the SLC were keen to play a T20I series. Apparently, the three T20Is have been put on hold for two reasons.
The first reason is that the proposed Lanka Premier League (LPL) franchise T20 Tournament is to be held in November and the other reason is that the heavy expenses the BCB would have had to spend for sending their cricketers for the T20I series in a charter flight.
“During the tour, the Bangladesh players and the support staff will undergo regular COVID-19 tests and anyone found positive on the last test will stay back in Colombo,” the sources said.
