BCB to test 38 cricketers for the upcoming tournament

Bangladesh will do COVID-19 test of 38 cricketers ahead of the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, said Bangladesh Cricket Board official on Thursday.
BCB official said that they have prepared the preliminary squad and further added that they will keep 15 cricketers as a back-up so that they can be used in case of emergency.
"We have a pool of 38 cricketers and everyone will have to do the coronavirus test. We will be picking 20 to 22 cricketers for the tour of Sri Lanka and will keep the rest as back up," Minhajul Abedin said on Thursday.

"With an HP squad of 24 people going there we have balance it that way as we can use anybody who we need them," he said.
"The cricketers will have corona test for three times in the country. In fact, if you do not test twice, you will not understand who is negative," he said.
Bangladesh's tour of Sri Lanka which was scheduled for July-August, comprising three Tests, was postponed indefinitely because of the COVID-19 situation.
Bangladesh is expected to travel to Sri Lanka on September 28 for the series after completing a one-week training camp.
Against Zimbabwe we played a test series for the last time we haven't had a game here in a long time.
"We are not even in practice mode yet we attach great importance to the experience. We have a lot of warm-up matches in Sri Lanka, where we will announce the main squad," he said.
"We will be going there with a preliminary team, the training session in Sri Lanka is very important. These five months were a long break for everyone. It will be interesting to see how quickly anyone recovers from this break, how he prepares himself mentally for the international stage," he said.
