Sri Lanka Cricket Board secretary Mohan De Silva has said that they are expecting Bangladesh cricket team to reach the island nation on September 24.
Bangladesh Cricket Board has been in talks with the Sri Lanka Cricket Board for the proposed tour for quite some time now. However, finally, Srilanka Board secretary has confirmed that they are expecting Bangladesh for the upcoming tour at their home.

"Yes, they are (Bangladesh) always welcome. 24th September they will reach here (Sri Lanka) probably. Along with three test matches, they want to play 3 T20Is. We are negotiating on that. We offered them back to reduce a test match and play 3 T20Is. Both boards are negotiating on that," he said while talking to ntv and another channel
This news has brought great relief to the national team players as they have been eagerly waiting to get back on the field and play some international matches after the forced COVID-19 break.
Bangladesh have last played an international match on their home soil against Zimbabwe on February 2020.
The tour also means that Bangladesh will miss the service of their ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan as he is allowed to take part to play international matches from October 29 after serving his one year ban.
