T20’s on cards for Tigers in Sri Lanka

Bangladesh Cricket Board is planning to add shorter version matches during the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.
Though nothing is finalized but if according to insiders three T20’s are likely to be included along with the three-match Test series during the series that is expected to take place either in September-October or October-November.
BCB is eyeing to prepare their Test squad in Sri Lanka by playing with their BCB’s High Performance unit in the island ahead of the three-match Test series.
Citing lack of preparation caused by the Covid-19, BCB and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced earlier that they have decided to postpone Bangladesh's tour of Sri Lanka to a mutually-planned later date.
Bangladesh were scheduled to play three Tests in July that are all part of the ICC Test Championship but as there was Covid-19 crisis prevailing BCB informed SLC that 'a conducive environment has still not arrived for the players to take part in an international cricket series. “Talks between BCB and SLC are going on about the new schedule and hopefully everything will be finalized soon. Earlier, we were only scheduled to play a three-Test series. We’re also trying to add some [shorter-version] matches and we have included that point in the new discussion which started after the suspension of ICC T20 World Cup,” he added.
‘’The tour can take place either in September-October or October-December and we are working on it[ when the tour can take place] as lot of things are taken into consideration before finalizing the tour,’’ he said.
Akram insisted that they are trying to reduce the time of the quarantine adding that there is a chance that the members of the Test squad might be prepared through playing matches with their HP squad.
‘’The duration of quarantine might be reduced. We will give Covid-19 test and after arriving there we will give another test and we are expecting to get the result within six hours and if everyone is tested negative we are seeing whether we can start our activities immediately,’’ said Akram.
‘’Our cricketers won’t be able to come close to their cricketers for 14 days but we can use their facilities. If our HP squad is there at the same point of time we can play matches among us and we are thinking in this line,’’ he concluded.
