Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s manager Mihir Diwakar has said former India captain and veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Dhoni is not going to retire from international cricket soon.
Diwakar harnessing this belief after seeing the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper has been doing intense training during CSK’s training camp since March amid the mounting scares of the coronavirus worldwide pandemic.
The former India captain has not played since the 2019 World Cup for which rumours have surfaced that the 39-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman is going to put off his gloves and pads. But his manager Diwakar brushed aside the possibility and said that Dhoni is not done yet.

“Being friends, we don’t talk about his cricket. But looking at him, he’s not all thinking about retirement,” Mihir Diwakar told Indian media during the birthday party of Dhoni, who turns 39.
“He is very determined to play the IPL. He has worked really hard for this. If you remember he was there in Chennai one month in advance before everything was shut down,” he added.
Diwakar also said that Dhoni is currently spending most of his time at his farmhouse and working to be in fit condition even during the lockdown and will begin practice as soon as the situation improves.
“He has maintained his fitness regimen at his farmhouse and will start practice after the lockdown is lifted. Everything now depends on how fast the situation returns to normalcy,” Diwakar said.
BCCI is doing everything to ensure that the IPL takes place, so the chances of seeing Dhoni putting the jersey number seven on his back and coming back in action are high.
