Former Bangladesh spin bowling coach and Pakistan veteran spinner Saqlain Mushtaq has billed Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan as an intelligent spin bowler in the current cricketing world.
Mushtaq said he saw him very closely while he was working with Bangladesh Team after that he matured enough in his bowling.
Saqlain Mushtaq proved himself to be the best spinner in the world. Besides, his ‘Doosra’ creation has been the main weapon for Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan, who later became the best in the world. India’s spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has also followed in his footsteps.

The 43-year-old spinner-turned-coach has spoken about the best spinners, who are currently playing in international cricket where Shakib Al Hasan’s name also came with many other spinners. And he called the Bangladesh star all-rounder an intelligent bowler.
According to Saqlain, Australian right-arm spinner Nathan Lyon is the best in Test cricket format in the world and Indian spinner Ashwin is good at home turf.
“In my opinion, Nathan Lyon is the best in the world. He has had success against all the big teams and even has a good record in spin with India and Pakistan,” said Saqlain Mushtaq, who currently shouldered the Pakistan Cricket Team ahead of their much-talked about tour in England during the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
“Ashwin is also a good bowler but at home and in limited-overs cricket, Kuldip is a really great spinner and he has the knowledge of cricket,” Mushtaq added.
After that, the spin legend spoke about Shakib and his own countrymen.
“Shakib Al Hasan is a very intelligent bowler. I saw him very closely while working in Bangladesh,” Saqlain Mushtaq added.
“There is something great about Shadab Khan in Pakistan and I think he will do well in Test cricket. And if you look at Yasir Shah’s field record, you can understand that he is the best in the world,” Mushtaq concluded.
