SLC announces a six-month contract for women cricketers

Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) has announced their half-yearly contract, bringing 35 women cricketers including national and emerging categories up for grabs.
This time the SLC has offered contracts to their 20 national women cricketers along with 15 emerging women players for six months which will be effective from 1 May.
Sri Lanka’s National Women’s Selection Committee has nominated the players on their performance and availability.
National players handed contracts under category A, B, C and D where the skipper Chamari Athapaththu has been named in the A band alone while the emerging cricketers were offered a fixed monthly salary and an attendance allowance.

Earlier, their most senior player Shashikala Siriwardene has retired which is why she has been left out of the contract.
