Australia releases itinerary for seven months

Cricket Australia (CA) has announced their upcoming fixtures of 2020-2021 men and women cricket team game where there are series’ from the most anticipated India tour to low-profile Zimbabwe tour.
Australia will host India, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and West Indies in between August 9, 2020 from February 2, 2021.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the cricketing calendar all over the world has been shattered widely. Many matches and tournaments had met the same fate because of its contagion.
However, things are itching to return to normalcy and the cricketing body are returning their players to the field for practice. Where CA has already fixed their fixtures and published it through a media release on this Thursday 28 May.
In the media release, Australia cricket board said that they are confident of hosting a safe and successful summer after announcing its 2020-21 men’s and women’s international schedule.
From the most anticipated series of India tour to Australian which is now scheduled to play October to January. In October Australia will host team India for three T20I series, then in December 3- January 7 four-Test match will be played in four venues, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney and then from January 12-17 there will be three ODI series. The return of Australia’s all-conquering women’s team, are among the highlights scheduled in this list.
Cricket Australia CEO Kevin Roberts said that they are encouraged by the progress of Australia to combat the coronavirus and hope to host the summer of cricket in 2020-2021 without any further due. But he also said that if the situation gets out of control, the schedule will then be changed if required.
“While acknowledging the difficulty in navigating a global pandemic, we are nonetheless encouraged by the progress Australia is making in combating the coronavirus and the positive impact that is having on our ability to host an exciting summer of cricket in 2020-21,” Kevin Roberts said.
“We know that circumstances or events beyond our control could mean that the final schedule potentially may look different to the one released today, but we’ll be doing everything we can to get as much international cricket in as possible this summer. We will communicate any changes to the schedule if or when they are required,” he added.
The chief executive also said that they are in an ongoing discussion process with the government about monitoring the touring nations and venues. Roberts also said that they are closely dealing with The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), New Zealand, Afghanistan and West Indies to host them.
“We’re engaged in ongoing discussions with federal and state governments, our venues and the touring nations to continually understand and monitor the situation in front of us, which is evolving every day. We’ll continue to act in accordance with public health advice and government protocols to ensure the safety of the public, players and support staff,” Kevin Roberts said.
“We’re working closely with the BCCI to deliver the eagerly anticipated men’s and women’s tours, and we are looking forward to staging the important series against both the men’s and women’s New Zealand sides. These are in addition to the scheduled men’s Test against Afghanistan and a T20 series against West Indies,” he added.
