Bangladesh Test skipper Mominul Haque said on Friday that they don’t have any excuse for their batting misery and added that they need to sort out things quickly as they are unable to bring good results for quite some time.
Pakistan bagged their second World Test Championship win as they mauled Bangladesh by an innings and 44 runs in Rawalpindi on the fourth day. Bangladesh, after starting on 126 for 6, folded for 168. Pakistan now are just six points behind third-placed England with 140 points after having played just five games.
Pakistan struck on the sixth ball of the day as Shaheen Afridi removed Mominul Haque. The Bangladesh captain was trapped in front and went for the review. However, there wasn't enough evidence that the ball clipped the bat first before crashing into the pads. The third umpire gave the benefit of the doubt to the bowler as Mominul departed for 41.
‘’It was a very disappointing performance for us., there is no excuse for it and I think we have to improve a lot of things,’’ said Mominul.
‘’In home condition every team is very good. They know our strength and they bowled very well. They worked very hard and it was more disappointing because we could not get 100 run partnership,’’ he said.

‘’I think it is very difficult to score big runs if you get out at 30 or 35 because you cannot make good partnership after getting out to 30 or 40 runs,’’ he said.
‘’We have lost last eight to nine Test matches and we are working to overcome it,’’ he said adding that he liked aggression showed by 16-year old pace bowler Naseem Shah, who ran havoc on their batting line-up that included picking up his maiden Test hat-trick.
‘’I think he [Naseem] has got good future with Pakistan cricket and he is very good and his positive sign is his aggression and I liked it,’’ he said.
Mominul said that they should learn from the juniors how to have the fight back when thing are down.
Bangladesh Under-19 squad just won the ICC World Cup that too after being put into pressure by the Indians in the final.
‘’If you want to learn something you can learn from your juniors and from everywhere they can give us some information on how to do good result,’’ helpless Mominul Haque told reporters who is desperate to find a way out in Pakistan.
‘’They really fought back in the ground and the way they fought back we should learn from them,’’ he said.
‘’We have to learn one more thing from them and that is the way they had shown their self belief,’’ he said.
