Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah said on Monday that they failed as a batting unit apart from Tamim Iqbal against Pakistan in the just concluded three-match series.
The hosts, who won the first two T20Is and as a result clinched the series, also retained their No. 1 ranking in the T20I format after the third game was washed out due to rain.

Pakistan rode on clinical bowling performances and strong shows from their experienced batsmen to win the first two T20Is. Shaheen Afridi bagged three wickets and conceded less than six an over. Shoaib Malik was the star with the bat in the opening game, with his unbeaten 58 helping Pakistan over the line. Babar Azam and Mohammad Hafeez struck fifties in the next game to see their side through.
Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal was the only exception making 39 and 65 runs respectively but hardly had enough assistance from the other end that could have helped them post a bigger total on the board.
‘’I think we did not achieve much. If I say achievement, I would only talk about Tamim. He batted realizing the nature of wicket and with his experience he came out good,’’ Mahmudullah told reporters after the third game was abandon due to rain at Lahore on Monday
‘’But as a batting unit, maybe we could not do so well. The wicket was not so batting friendly but still we have the capability of making better runs. Bowlers did well, they bowled well in the first match. And we could not make that big score, which could be reason. But overall, I think we need to improve our batting.
