Bangladesh Cricket Board official said on Saturday that they don’t want to stay in Pakistan for long period due to security reasons and explained it to their counterpart as it prompted them not to play the two-match Test series in the upcoming tour of Pakistan.

Earlier BCB announced that they are ready to play the three Twenty20 internationals but not willing to play Test in Pakistan.

BCB announced the decision as Pakistan Cricket Board was waiting for a reply from their BCB counterpart as they had sent a draft schedule for a full-fledged tour as they are desperate to revive cricket at their own backyard.

After receiving the reply, PCB chief executive Wasim Khan said that they had asked the reason from the BCB for not playing Tests in Pakistan after successfully hosting Sri Lanka in the two-match Test series as their security plan is signed off by the International Cricket Council and the sports governing body also decided to send their team officials after being satisfied with their security plan for the Test series against Sri Lanka.

BCB CEO Nizamuddin said that they will talk with ICC as well but added they don’t have any plan to change stance as far as playing Test in Pakistan is concerned.

The tourists are scheduled to visit Pakistan in January- February for the bilateral series comprising two-match Test and three-match Twenty 20 series.

‘’We are in constant touch with Pakistan Cricket Board and we told them we do not want to stay there for long time,’’ Nizamuddin Chowdhury told reporters on Saturday.

‘’We want to play the three scheduled T20 matches and want to play two Tests at neutral venue,’’ he said.

‘’The security personnel can understand the difference between staying for short time and staying for long time. We have taken the decision considering our security issue,’’ he said.

You all know that representatives of our government security agencies visited Pakistan and we have got their report in our hand,’’ he said.

‘’We are in constant touch with Bangladesh high commission. We are giving full important to security issue and our decision depends on their decision,’’ he added.
‘’We do not want to send any more security team and we are in touch with Bangladesh High Commission in Pakistan,’’ he said adding that they are eyeing to take an independent opinion of the ICC in the coming days.

‘’You all know during an international match ICC appoints the team officials. We will try to communicate with ICC in these regards and want to take their independent opinion,’’ he said.
