Cumilla Warriors skipper Dasun Sanaka said on Wednesday that he is satisfied to reap the benefit of his hard work.

Sri Lankan Sanaka ignited the first day of Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) with a sublime batting show to guide his side to a 105 runs win over Rangpur Rangers in their opening game at the Sher-e- Bangla National Stadium in front of the handful crowd available at Mirpur.

Sanaka, who hammered a 31 ball-75 not out comprising with three smashing three fours and nine towering sixes, came up with his ruthless best, especially in the last two overs that eventually gave his side to a respectable total of 173-7.

Cumilla amassed 51 runs in the last two overs, with Shanaka himself making 46 runs at this point. Seven of his nine sixes came at this juncture as he struck Mustafizur four sixes and Junaid Khan three sixes.

‘’It[ hitting sixes] comes from training. Back home I train very hard and I think this is the result,’’ Sanaka told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium after the match.

Actually I took 10 to 12 balls to settle in than I got my timing very well and that's why I got the success,’’ he said.

‘’Actually, I have hit more sixes and I enjoyed hitting the sixes,’’ he said.

Sanaka feels that more than the power technique is required to hit sixes and said that he was working to improve his technique.

‘’Not actually I do not practice six-hitting that much,’’ said Sanaka.

‘’I practice [to improve] my technique. Actually when I started my technique was not very good and I settle to a better one which suites my game,’’ he said.

‘’It is not about power because the technique matters as well. You see I am a skinny guy and technique also matters in hitting sixes,’’ he said.

Sanaka, who hit four sixes in one of Mustafizur over, said that he was well aware of how he bowls considering he had played him a couple of times earlier.

‘’I have played him three or four times against him,’’ said Sanaka.

‘’I know exactly what his plan was and I was waiting for his[ Mustafizur] slow balls,’’ he said.
