Bangladesh women win SA Games gold after winning nervy final

Bangladesh Women’s cricket team acquired gold in the South Asian Games after beating Sri Lanka by two runs in the final match at Rangasala Stadium in Nepal’s Pokhara on Sunday.
The women’s successfully defended seven runs in the last over as Sri Lanka was restricted to 89-9 after Bangladesh put up 91-8 in 20 overs.
Defending a small total Bangladesh women struck early to remove the openers. Sri Lanka skipper H Madavi batted well and scored 32 runs but was not able to have good support from the other end. Sri Lanka batter L Apsara scored 25 runs and was the second-highest scorer for them.

Bangladesh women fielded brilliantly in the final and trapped four Sri Lanka batters run out. Nahida Akter was the most impressive giving away 9 runs in his 4 over and taking 2 wickets.
Bangladesh women could not bat well after being sent to bat first. Nigar sultana captain of Bangladesh scored the highest 29 runs while Fatema Khatun made a valuable 15 runs.
