Bangladesh pace bowler Al Amin Hossain said on Saturday that they are lacking experience and feel that is the major difference between the two teams at the historic pink-ball Test match at Eden Gardens on Saturday.
When a two-day finish of the game looked highly likely, Mushfiqur Rahim came up with a stubborn batting performance to prevent Bangladesh from being red-faced.
Showing the boldness and utmost confidence against ruthless bowlers, he helped the side take their maiden day-night Test against India to third day, that seemed to come as a soothing pleasure.

The diminutive man survived a hostile Ishant Sharma, who had figures of 4-39 following his 5-22 in first innings and stood tall against some devastating bowling of red-hot Indian fast bowlers to remain unbeaten on 59. Thanks to his brave effort, Bangladesh ended the second day on 152-6 at Eden Gardens here on Saturday. The visitors still need 89 runs to make India batting for the second time.
India captain Virat Kohli struck a sublime 136 as India declared their first innings on 347-9 with a lead of 241, sensing that the fast bowlers would get considerable amount of swing and bounce under lights.
His decision to declare the innings proved preciously right as the fast bowlers, led by Ishant Sharma, sliced the top order in a hostile bowling.
A humiliating defeat in just two days was on the cards after Bangladesh, who was bowled out for 106 in first innings, found them in a state of embarrassment, being reduced to 13-4 in their second innings.
“The bowling attack they have – Shami, Ishant, Umesh – are playing for a long time in the Tests. All of them played almost 60-70 Test matches. They know where to ball and how to take wickets. We hardly played five to six Tests each and in experience-wise, they are much ahead than us. We need to find out how to take wickets and how to beat the batsman. I think they have done it better than us,’’ Al Amin told reporters at Eden Gardens on Saturday.
‘Red ball and pink ball both are different type of balls. We didn’t have much chance of playing in such matches. Overall the crowd, new ball, playing under lights – everything was new to us. They are an experienced side and they were able to cope up quickly,’’ he said/
‘’I made debut for Bangladesh in 2013 and I think there is no end of learning. Many will take 30-40 years and it has 20 years for Bangladesh. I think they will still learn,’’ he concluded.
