Bangladeshi spinner Mehedy Hasan said on Monday that they are learning fast to get adapted with the pink ball as they are heading to play their maiden day-night Test match at Eden, scheduled from November 22.
Bangladesh began their full-fledged preparation with a pink ball at the Holkar Stadium from Monday.
‘’Today when I was batting and I found that the ball is moving quite a bit and it also amasses some pace. I feel that pink ball is heavier than the red one,’’ Mehedy told reporters after the practice session.
‘’I feel that pink ball will swing much more all the while featuring some cut. While I was batting, the ball was cutting through. Today was my first experience with pink-ball, So, I can’t predict how it might behave in a match situation,’’ he said.

‘’We have tried to make the most of the opportunity that we have got to gain experience from the pink ball. We are trying to cover a hundred percent of the practice drill needed to be done. We are trying to utilize a hundred percent of the chance that we were given,’’ he said.
‘’In the initial stages, one has to struggle a bit. I believe that if we can go through the initial struggle and adjust to get set in the crease, it will get easier. I feel it to be an important strategy to do well,’’ he said.
‘’Everyone is in a really positive mood. Everyone is really excited and are eager to play a day-night Test with pink ball. We are determined to do well in the Tests. As usual, but we should exercise some extra caution and use the practice sessions to the fullest to make sure we are prepared,’’ he said.
Mehedi said spinners can get some more bounce and turn from the pink ball.
‘’Spinners can get some good skid out of this ball. It also has some turn and bounce in offer. As far as we saw, the ball was getting some good bounce,’’ he said.
‘’As usual, the visibility of the pink ball is as good as any other ball with which we are used to playing. We are completely comfortable with pink ball,’’ he said.
‘’About the seam, it can be identified when it lands on the seam and sometimes the seam can’t be identified. Maybe sometimes I might not be able to predict the seam position. I think this is going to be a downside for spinners,’’ he added.
We are practicing fielding in floodlit conditions. We just finished our practice session. Our practice sessions are being done under floodlights
