Bangladesh Test and Twenty20 skipper Shakib al Hasan said on Wednesday that his stint with Barbados Trident in the just concluded Caribbean Premier League will help him to prepare for the upcoming tour of India.
According to Shakib, who returned to Dhaka on Wednesday after completing his stint for the champions Barbados Trident, he will find it easy to adapt as the series will begin with the shortest format.
‘’I think these matches in CPL will help me as the series will start with T20 matches.

‘’I don’t think that I will have any problem adapting to the format as we will begin the series by playing T20’s
Lot of people felt that we won’t be champions. Because we have become champions it is always satisfying.
‘’We were at the bottom of the tournament but we were comfortably placed after going into the second round on the back of some convincing win. Everyone contributed and that is the major we became champions,’’ he said.
In the just concluded CPL Shakib played six matches for Barbados and scored 111 runs at the average of 18.5 runs while with the ball he picked four wickets. Shakib helped Barbados in some of the matches by bowling economically in the middle overs.
While Shakib is expected to take rest, Bangladesh cricketers began their preparation for the upcoming India tour by taking part in the National Cricket League, country's traditional first-class tournament that started across the country from October 10.
Bangladesh, who were recently humbled by Afghanistan at home in a one-off Test, will open their Test championship campaign with the two-match Test series against India after the three Twenty20 internationals at the first leg of the tour.
