The high voltage final between Bangladesh and Afghanistan has been called off without a ball being bowled due to persistent drizzle in the capital city Dhaka.
Much was expected of the final for the Bangladesh team as it was to see how the players react to the pressure situations of the finals.
Bangladesh's opening problem remains unsolved in the tournament. They will be hoping Tamim Iqbal will provide much-needed stability in the opening slot when he comes back from the break. Nazmul Hossain Shanto was given a chance but he failed to grab it with both hands. Same is applicable for Liton Das as he couldn’t come up with anything noteworthy.

Much was expected from Sabbir Rahman, considered as the only T20 specialist of Bangladesh but he too failed to deliver when the opportunity present itself.
On a brighter note Shafiul islam bowled well and came back into the T20 scheme of things and the debut of leg-spinning all-rounder Aminul Islam Biplob has brought fresh air in the country’s cricket fraternity. He played only one game but was very unfortunate to get injured.
Mohammed Saifuddin and Mustafizur Rahman bowled well but not consistently well in the matches they played.
The experienced trio of Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad indeed gave the stability in the batting order. Shakib played a match winning 45 ball-70 not out against Afghanistan that snapped Bangladesh’s four-match T20 losing streak. Mushfiqur Rahim played some bad shots to get out and also his work behind the wicket was not satisfactory enough.
From it was understood that Bangladesh still finds no genuine No. 7 in T20 cricket.
