Bangladesh was left in troublesome 88-5 after Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan found his mojo in a pitch that suited his bowling nicely.

He claimed 3-16 as Bangladesh went to Tea with a fear of being follow-on on day two of the one-off Test on Friday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

With just five wickets at the hands, the hosts are now trailing by 254 runs as Afghanistan posted 342 in its first innings before being all out 30 minutes before the lunch session.

Mominul Haque was batting on 27 at the second interval as Rashid took two prized scalps of Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim in three deliveries in the last over before Tea.

Bangladesh made an upsetting start to the innings when opener Shadman Islam chased a delivery off pace bowler Yamin Ahmadza well outside of the off-stump to give away his wicket for a duck in the fourth ball of the first over.

Liton Das who replaced Mominul Haque in No.3 position joined Soumya to steady the innings to some extent with Liton looking absolute control of his shot.

He was beaten inside edge against off-spinner Mohammad Nabi when on 1 but reviewed it successfully to overturn the umpire’s decision.

Nabi however got the rewards for hitting right length consistently with the wicket of Soumya for 17 when he had him leg-before with a slider.

Rashid Khan then appeared in the stage and struck in his first over to break the defense of Liton with a quicker delivery. Liton hit three fours and one six in his 33 off 66.

And thereafter Rashid was relentless. He got his opposite number Shakib Al Hasan for 11 with a traditional leg-break.

And one ball latter, he had Mushfiqur Rahim caught by wicket-keeper Ibrahim Zadran for two ball-duck.

But the decision looked somewhat confusing as the video footage didn’t give anything conclusive decision that whether the ball hit his boot or ground to touch his bat before going to wicket-keeper’s hand.  The soft signal by the umpire was out and thereby the third umpire had to take it in the consideration.
