West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard has been penalized for disobeying umpires at the second T20 match against India. He picked up a 20% match fee fine and a demerit point beside his name.

Pollard called a substitute onto the field although having been repeatedly told by the umpires that a request must be made for a substitute to come onto the field and being advised to wait until the end of the next over. Although umpires gave him all the instructions he failed to obey them.
On-field umpires Nigel Duguid and Gregory Brathwaite, third umpire Leslie Reifer and fourth official Patrick Gustard charged him after the match. Pollard at first denied all the charges then a formal hearing was required. He was found guilty on that hearing and then punished with a 20% match fee cut and a demerit point.
West Indies has already lost the series after losing the first two T20 matches of the three-match T20 series. In the first match, pollard scored 49 runs and in the second match, he scored 8.
