South African pacer Dale Steyn has decided to retire from Test cricket on Monday. After the retirement of this veteran pacer, his teammates have become emotional. Especially Proteas captain Faf Du Plessis and former captain AB de Villiers as they wrote about Steyn and his retirement on their official Twitter account.
Du Plessis said, Steyn is the best bowler of this generation and he had much to accomplish.

"He is the best bowler of this generation. Stats don't lie. Stayen's stats are the best. I know, how much he could give to Test cricket even now. We will miss Steyn very dearly," Du Plessis wrote on his Twitter.
After hearing about Steyn's retirement former captain AB de Villiers has become nostalgic. Steyn and Villiers both started their careers together. Villiers hailed Steyn by saying he is the best as a bowler of his time and he had the privilege to see him be that.
"Too many memories to mention. We started together many years back. And I had the privilege and front row seats of watching Dale turn into the best bowler of his time. You are the greatest and an even better person and the best team man around," Villiers wrote on his official Twitter account.
Steyn has taken 439 wickets in 93 Test matches. He was very successful in the red ball cricket but he wasn't able to play consistently because of injury. He also didn't play in the recently finished World Cup because of injury. For this same reason, he has refrained himself from Test cricket. Steyn said, “Test cricket takes a lot from you and he wants to continue his career in the other formats, for this he decided to quit from the Test cricket.”
"I am retiring from a format that I love very dearly. I think Test takes a very tough physical and mental test of you. It's horrible to think that I won't play Test cricket ever again. But the most horrible thing is, I won't play cricket ever again. To play cricket longer, I have decided to quit from Test cricket," said Steyn about his retirement.
