Sri Lanka Cricket Board has suspended the contract of Chandika Hathurusingha. After the board meeting on Monday, Cricket Board Secretary Mohan De Silva has confirmed the matter.
There was a rumor on Monday that Hathurusingha can be dismissed within 24 hours. But before the end of 24 hours, the Sri Lankan board has dismissed his contract.

Mainly, after a poor World Cup performance, Hathurusingha was on the verge of losing his job. Recently finished three-match ODI series was his last assignment with Sri Lanka.
Hathurusingha had a contract with Sri Lanka till December 2019. But the Sri Lankan board doesn't wish to wait that long. Lankan board has appointed Jerome Jayaratne as the interim coach of Sri Lanka for the Test series against New Zealand.
"We had a board meeting on Monday. In this meeting, we have decided to terminate the contract of Hathurusingha. Jerome Jayaratne will be our coach for the New Zealand series. Hathuru never wants to explain himself. That's why we suspended his contract. We will take the final decision after the discussion," Mohan De Silva said on Monday.
Sri Lanka hasn't said Goodbye to Hathuru just now. For now, Board has said, they have suspended the contract. As per the order of Sports Minister Harin Fernando, they will discuss the achievements and failures of Hathurusingha after which they will reach a conclusion.
