We could have won, had rain not intervened: Rovman Powell

West Indies allrounder Rovman Powell believes West Indies had enough wickets in the hut to chase down India's total of 168 runs at the second T20 on Sunday. West Indies were 98/4 when the torrential thunderstorms interrupt the proceedings, West Indies needed 70 runs to win then. But as the game didn't resume India were declared the winner by 22 runs via the DLS method.
"I think we had sufficient wickets in hand. We had Kieron Pollard and [Shimron] Hetmyer at the crease, and Carlos Brathwaite and Keemo Paul to come in. I think those are guys that could have brought it to them. I guess in the end India are runaway winners but we don't look at it and say we were far behind," Powell said at the post-match press conference.

Powell believes the wicket was better than the first T20 where they were struggling at 95 for nine at one stage. Powell struck the ball well in this match, he scored 54 runs off 34 balls. He believes if the match was played for full 20 overs then they could have won the match or come very close.
"I think the wicket was a little bit better. It came onto the bat a little more. It didn't spin as much or it wasn't as slow as yesterday. As a team, I just thought we were an over behind. If the game had finished, we probably would have won or come very close," Powell added.
With this defeat of 22 runs, West Indies have already lost the three-match T20 series with a match in hand. The final T20 will be played in Guyana on Tuesday.
