2000 applications for the post of India coaches!

Almost 2000 applicants applied for the post of India coaches after Board of Control for Cricket India (BCCI) posted a job circular for the coaching staff, reports 'Bangalore Mirror.'    


The current coaching staffs tenure was expired after the World Cup but due to West Indies tour, the BCCCI extended their tenure for the time being.

Name of some experienced coaches has also come up who can surely give some competition to the India's current coach Ravi Sashtri, who publicly got the backing of captain Virat Kohli.


Former Australian cricketer Tom Moody has applied for the post. He has coached Surisers Hyderabad in IPL, Rangpur Riders in BPL and Multan Sultan in PSL. He has great knowledge about the sub-continental cricket. 


Former New Zealand coach and current Kings XI Punjab coach Mike Hesson is also in the race. Among Indian coaches, Robin Singh and Lalchand Rajput have applied for the position of Indian head coach.



There is a speculation that former Sri Lankan great Mahela Jayawardene applied for this post but there is no application to BCCI from Mahela as per the report. Former South African player Jonty Rhodes has applied for the position of fielding coach, it has been confirmed.
