Bangladesh Emerging Women’s concedes T20 series in South Africa

Bangladesh Emerging Women’s team suffered a six-wicket defeat to South Africa Emerging Women in the second T20 and thereby lost the three-match series with a game to go.



South Africa 'A' team reached the target 120 runs given by Bangladesh 'A' with three balls at hands. Chasing this total South African D van Niekerk played a great inning of 50 runs of 40 balls and helped them to reach the target pretty easily.  


Although the target was small, Bangladeshi bowlers Shaila Sharmin, Nahida Akter picked up wickets at regular interval. Bangladesh Women A picked up four wickets in just 68 runs. But they failed to pick up anymore wicket after that. 


Shaila picked up two wickets for Bangladesh and Nahida and Ritu Moni picked up one wicket each.

Before this, the host won the toss and sent Bangladesh to bat. Bangladesh failed to amass a big total first up, as they scored just 119 runs losing four wickets. 


Captain Nigar Sultana scored the highest 44 runs for Bangladesh, she was unbeaten till the end. Opener Sanjida played a 33 runs innings. For South Africa 'A' TS Sekhukhune picked up two wickets. E Yekile and  Niekerk picked up one wicket each. For all-round performance, Niekerk was awarded the man of the match award.
