Just some days after becoming the World Champions in ODI format for the first time in their history, England saw the other side of the coin being bundled out for just 85 runs against Ireland in their first innings on Wednesday at Lords.

England is playing Ireland at Lords in a one-off Test to prepare for the upcoming Ashes. But as per this moment, the preparation isn't going well as they surrendered meekly in a venue where they lifted the coveted trophy on July 14.

England won the toss and captain Joe Root decided to bat first. Test debutant Jason Roy got out early scoring just five runs. Joe Denly got out at 23 to another debutant Mark Adair, who is playing his first Test for Ireland. Rory Burns was the next to go at TJ Murtagh's bowling. Debutant Adair also picked up England Skipper Joe Root at two runs, trapped him upfront. England were 42 for 4 then.

Then Murtagh wreaked havoc to the England middle order. He picked up the wickets of Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes, conceding just one run, forcing England to be 43-7 from 42-4.

WB Rankin then picked up Sam Curran and Stuart Broad. Debutant Adair shot England innings out for 85 by picking up the wicket of Stone.

Murtagh was the pick of the bowlers for Ireland. He picked up five wickets for just 13 runs. Adair picked up three for 32 runs and Rankin picked up two for five runs. Joe Denly was the highest scorer for England in the first innings, he scored 23 runs.
