Hathurusingha unfazed by potential SL coaching snub

Sri Lanka head coach Chandika Hathurusingha said that he is not fazed by the ongoing discussion that suggested he could be sacked from the post of the country’s head coach.
He said rather he is focusing on playing cricket and exploiting the weakness of the opposition as Sri Lanka gears up to take on Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series.
"As far as I am concerned I haven’t heard from anybody relevant to me they are going to change the coaching staff. And even if anyone says it do not affect the planning or the way we want to play the cricket. We play the way we want and our strength is trying to expose weakness of the opposition, it doesn’t affect at all," Hathurusingha said on Monday.
He also indicated that he is not planning to step down as the head coach of Sri Lanka and if the board wants to sack him then they will have to tell him and then he will make his decision.
"I have to wait they are going to tell me and then I am going to make my decision" He added.
Changing the coach after a poor performance in the World Cup isn't new. Sri Lanka finished sixth in the just concluded World Cup and failed to qualify for the semifinal. So rumors were rife about Hathurusingha being sacked.
Bangladesh was first in sacking their head coach after the World Cup. They terminated the contract of Steve Rhodes after he came back from the World Cup. Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur and India coach Ravi Sastri are also under the pump for not fulfilling the expectation in the World Cup.
