Rayudu retires from International cricket

Indian middle-order batsman Ambati Rayudu has announced his retirement from the International cricket.
Rayudu was a frontrunner to make the in India’s World Cup squad as a middle-order batsman but his chance was snubbed rather surprisingly.
He also is expected to get call up when Shikhar Dhawan and later Vijay Shankar were ruled out of the Indian squad due to injury.

It is believed after not being picked in the Indian World cup squad and overlooked twice after Shikar Dhawan and Vijay Shankar’s injury, Rayudu decided to put his international career to a close.
Rayudu was listed in the reserves for the Indian cricket team prior to the World Cup. But Rishabh Pant and Mayank Agarwal were picked instead of him.
Rayudu also decided not to play Indian Premier League (IPL) but he is open to playing in other T20
A few days back, Yuvraj Singh and Manpreet Goni of India also retired from international to cricket to play in T20 leagues around the world.
In the 50 ODI innings that he has played, Rayudu scored 1694 runs at an average of 47.05 with a top score of 124*. He has hit three centuries and 10 fifties and has a strike rate of 79.04.
Rayudu’s form in T20’s is very poor. In the five T20Is innings that he has played, he has scored 42 runs with an average of 10.50.
