Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Monday that West Indies Cricket Board postponed their ‘A’ team tour in June due to financial crisis.
The second string West Indian squad was expected to visit Bangladesh in June to play three four-day matches along with five one-day games.
However, WCB recently informed BCB that they are unwilling to come at that point of time due to financial crisis though BCB officially did not wanted to disclose it to the media.
‘’There is some uncertainty [regarding the Windies A team tour] because they have got some limitations,’’ BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told reporters at Mirpur on Monday.

‘’They have got some internal problem and it is not wise on my part to disclose it. A board can face some kind of crisis at certain point of times and it can happen to any board and we should not judge them on this basis,’’ he said.
BCB officials disclosed the real trouble later when they disclosed that Windies have postponed the tour due to financial crisis.
“West Indies ‘A’ team was slated to visit Bangladesh in the upcoming month but they informed us that they will not come to play the series because of their financial crisis,” a high-profile BCB officials confirmed Cricbuzz on request of not to be named.
On March 24, Ricky Skerritt, the former Windies team manager, has been appointed president of Cricket West Indies as he acquired the required number of votes at the Annual General Meeting and beat Dave Cameron 8-4 to secure the win.
Kishore Shallow also won his contest by the same margin to beat Emmanuel Nanthan to be appointed the vice president.
BCB official insisted that they are now planning to visit Sri Lanka in September.
“We have a reciprocal series of ‘A’ team with Sri Lanka, who already played against us. Now we’ll go in Sri Lanka very soon,” said Nizamuddin.
According to BCB officials the High Performance team will tour in Sri Lanka in July or August and later the Bangladesh ‘A’ team will also travel to Sri Lanka in September to play the reciprocal series.
