Tigresses crushed as Pakistan secure series whitewash

Pakistan women’s national cricket team have a completed a clean sweep over Bangladesh women in their very own backyard in a four-match T20I series.
With the opening match being abandoned due to rain, Pakistan sealed the series by winning the first two matches. The Tigresses could not avoid another loss in the fourth and final T20I as Pakistan whitewashed them.
Winning the toss in the fourth match, the Salma Khatun-led women decided to bat first. Only two middle-order batters, Rumana Ahmed (25) and Fahim Khatun (14), from the entire batting lineup were able to reach the double-figures before Pakistan bundled them out for a paltry 73-run total in 20 overs.
Natalia Pervaiz was the pick of the Pakistan bowlers, taking three wickets. DIana Baig and Sana Mir also bagged two wickets each while Anam Amin and Nida Dar scalped one wicket apiece.
Coming on to chase, Pakistan lost three of their wickets before reaching the puny target. Their skipper, Javeria Khan, top-scored for the side with a 36-run innings, which was ended by Khadija Tul Kubra. Nahida Khan also made 17 crucial runs and Muneeba Ali scored 18.

The other two wicket-takers for Bangladesh were Rumana Ahmed and the captain, Salma Khatun. However, their bowling unit was not as clinical as Pakistan’s, which resulted in the latter winning the contest with 31 ball remaining.
These two sides will face each other in the one-off ODI of the limited-overs series, on October 8.
It goes without saying that the Bangladesh women's national team have had a disappointing campaign to start their Women’s World T20-preparations with. The Tigresses will now look to start afresh and mount a comeback in the 50-over match as they cannot let this failure affect their confidence before the upcoming global event.
