Hridoy urges batsmen to thrive against India

Bangladesh Under19 skipper Towhid Hridoy believes that they are confident of beating the India U19s in the Asia Cup semifinal if the batsmen can put up the runs on the board.
The bowlers continued their fine form as Bangladesh posted a comfortable five-wicket victory against Hong Kong and reached the semifinal of the Under-19 Asia Cup yesterday (October 3).
Sri Lanka U19s defended their total of 200 to secure a 23-run win as the Pakistan U19s could only get 177 for eight. The result ensured there were no run-rate equations which could have ended the host's campaign in the tournament.

Bangladesh lost their opening match against Sri Lanka but bounced back in their second match against Pakistan to keep their semifinal hopes alive. Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain was once again the pick of Bangladesh's bowlers as his three-wicket haul helped them bundle out Hong Kong for 91 runs in 46.5 overs and also brought him the man-of-the-match award.
“I think our batsmen need to score runs and if that start happens, we are confident of beating India in the semis,” Ridoy told reporters at Dhaka on Wednesday.
“It is our bowlers who are winning matches for us so far but our batsmen need to blaze if we want to beat a team like India.
“There is hardly much difference between the two sides at the age level so there is nothing much to worry about them,” he said.
India will take on Bangladesh in the U-19 Asia Cup semi-final at SBNS on Thursday (October 4).
