Bangladesh’s new opening duo of Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan offered them their much-cherished start in the tournament and that too in the very final match against India. While Mehidy batted with his rather slow approach, Liton took on the bowlers and formed a 120-run stand with the unorthodox opener.

Mehidy’s dismissal for 32 runs was followed by a disaster for the Mashrafe-led men got bundled out while scoring the next 102 runs.

Meanwhile, Liton picked up his maiden ODI ton and stopped at 121 runs while the rest of the batters failed to enter double-figures except for Soumya Sarkar. Coming on to bat at no. 7 Soumya tried to offer some respite to the Tigers with a crucial 33-run knock. However, he could not continue his innings till the end as India wrapped up Bangladesh’s innings in 48.3 overs.

Bangladesh middle-order failed to strike the right notes and hence the Men in Red & Green, who were once eyeing a 300+ total on this batting-friendly pitch, lifted the total past 200 with much difficulties.

India’s spin-bowling department shone brightly, accounting for 6 wickets, while Bangladesh fell victim to three run-outs because of their poor decision making tendency under pressure. The India spinners successfully choked the flow of runs after and did not let any of the batters settle in to stop Liton’s onslaught at the other end.

The trio of Kedar Jadhav, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Kuldeep Yadav have been brilliant deceive the opponents into making costly mistakes. And now, at the Dubai International Stadium, which has been the home base for India throughout this tournament, this target looks to be a cakewalk for Rohit's & co. However, Bangladesh bowlers will undoubtedly look to repeat their heroics from the last match and fire on all cylinders to snatch their much-coveted trophy from under India’s nose.
