Sri Lanka have announced their squad for the Asia Cup and the biggest inclusion in the mix is that of Lasith Malinga. The Sri Lankan pacer last played for them in September 2017 and has been snubbed by the Lankan setup ever since.
The tournament will begin from the 15th of September and will end on the 28th of the same month. While the 35-year-old hasn’t played in the international arena for almost a year, he did take part in domestic T20 competitions in his homeland.

Meanwhile, Danushka Gunathilaka is back in the squad after being suspended from limited overs’ cricket for disrupting the team curfew during their recent series against South Africa, which took place in July.
Another addition to the squad is Dilruwan Perera as he makes it to the Sri Lankan ODI setup for the first time since April 2017. He is also followed by Dushmantha Chameera, who makes his comeback to international cricket after five months.
Finally, Dinesh Chandimal has also been recalled to the squad after he was ignored for the South Africa series following a six-match ban for tampering with the ball.
Sri Lanka squad: Angelo Mathews (capt), Kusal Perera, Kusal Mendis, Upul Tharanga, Dinesh Chandimal, Danushka Gunathilaka, Thisara Perera, Dasun Shanaka, Dhanajaya de Silva, Akila Dananjaya, Dilruwan Perera, Amila Aponso, Kasun Rajitha, Suranga Lakmal, Dushmantha Chameera, Lasith Malinga
