Mehidy Hasan Miraj, the national team all-rounder, is very excited to have Mahedi Hasan in the training camp. The recently announced 32-member preliminary squad for the tri-nation ODI series and Test series against Sri Lanka, started their camp with multi-stage fitness test.

Mahedi was named in the squad because of performing well in the BPL. He played for the Comilla Victorians, whereas Miraj played for the Rajshahi Kings.

Miraj reportedly said, "I am feeling very well. Especially, Mahedi is a very close friend of mine. He and I have been playing together since U-14.

We have played for the Khulna division as well. It is very pleasing that he has got a chance in the national team's conditioning camp. It is nice to see another cricketer emerging from Khulna."

"His name too is Mahedi. He is my childhood friend. I know him from a very young age. I wish he performs well," he added.

Miraj also discussed his game and expressed his satisfaction with the kind of roles he is being offered in the team right now.

The 20-year-old said, "the way the Bangladeshi batting-order is right now, it allows me to bat is lower middle-order. But I am happy,"

He is eager to get a chance in the top-order to prove his worth.

"If I get a chance to bat earlier in future, I will utilize that opportunity to mount a comeback. Maybe it is not going to happen now. I will be looking forward to bat in the top-order in future by developing my game.

I am a bowler now and I am satisfied with it. I am happy with being a bowler. The team want me to perform well as a bowler," said Mehidy.

The youngster was thankful to the Prime Minsiter of the country as he was provided with a land through the courtesy of her.

"I was awarded the Man of the Series in my debut series. I had got a land as a gift(from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina). I would like to thank the Prime Minister. My family liked the act of kindness as well,"

Miraj shared his thoughts on the importance of fitness to maintain the tight schedule next year. He said, "We have plenty of games this year. The challenges right from the beginning are a lot.

We have games from the start of next year till the very end. The fact is, everyone has to be fit. All players in the team will perform well if they remain fit. I am optimistic about our team's chances of doing well"

He further added, "It is tough to predict how it is going to be like. We will try to do well. Our aim will be to give everything we have got,"

"The camp has started from today. With the amount of time we are getting before the series, we can be hopeful to prepare fully," he concluded.
