Tamim Iqbal to miss first camp day for hair

The last few months have been hectic for the Tigers. After
all, they have not only played Australia and South Africa on the trot, they
also had to compete in the Bangladesh Premier League. After the BPL’s conclusion,
some of the senior members of the squad had to play in the National Cricket
League in order to stay in touch with the game and impress the selectors for a berth in the final squad.
That’s not where it ended, however, as right after the NCL’s
conclusion, the players were asked to join a training camp that has begun from Wednesday. While almost every player is expected to be present
from the very first day, Tamim Iqbal—and Mashrafe Mortaza—might not be able to
take part in the initial stages.
For Tamim Iqbal, the situation is unfortunate as he is now
in Mumbai getting a hair transplant treatment that is supposedly taking longer
than the left-handed batsman had expected. In a regretful tone, he confessed that
he would not have gone for the treatment now had he known of the repercussions
beforehand.
“The doctors [in Mumbai] told me that it would take around
10 days for me to get back to practicing,” Tamim was quoted saying by Kaler
Kontho.

“However, now I think that it is going to take a few more
days—and there is not much time left for the tri-nation series to begin.
“If I knew that this would take so long, I would never have
opted for this [hair transplant] right now.”
After a hair transplant treatment, the body begins to gain
water. As a result, Tamim Iqbal has added 4 kilos to his weight. He is,
however, confident that he will be back soon because the senior doctor of BCB
has affirmed him as such.
“[Senior doctor of BCB] Debashish da (elder brother) has told me that the problem will be solved within the 1st of January and it is not a concern even if it takes a few more days [to recuperate], I can prepare myself with practice. And we have all played a lot of cricket anyways."
