Bangladeshi women cricketers are developing culinary skills during this coronavirus pandemic to cope with the unwanted break from cricket caused by it and relieve some mental stress during this crisis period.

Bangladesh women’s team star pacer Jahanara Alam and Salma Khatun told New Age that they are trying to improve their cooking skill during this lock down as they are unable to go to the field due to the present situation

Jahanara is right now stuck at her apartment in the capital, while her family is staying in her hometown Khulna. Forced to cook for herself, Jahanara said she was using the time to sharpen her culinary skills with the help of YouTube.

‘’As I am staying alone, I have to prepare my own food. So to pass time and keep myself busy, I am trying out new recipes from YouTube. I made Jilapi, bundia, and biryani lately. I also made hilsha polao, for that I needed sweet curd, that too I made myself see the recipe from YouTube,’ said Jahanara.

Salma is also trying her hand at cooking, whipping up some restaurant dishes for her family.

‘’As restaurants are closed and I also have time, I made puri and moghlai paratha at home and my family members liked that very much,’’ said Salma
