Bangladesh ODI skipper Rumana Ahmed feels that playing bilateral series with big teams like Australia and New Zealand in future can create a big impact on their development.

Despite having experience of playing against the Asian teams, Bangladesh women's team does not have experience of playing bilateral series against big teams like Australia and New Zealand.

Rumana Ahmed claims that the girls of Bangladesh have failed in the T20 World Cup which ended a few months ago was because they have hardly enough bilateral series against the big team. She said that they can play comfortably against Pakistan, India and sometimes against South Africa as they frequently have the chance to play against these teams and they know how to play against these teams. But in case of teams like Australia and New Zealan they can only see them playing through TV. Playing bilateral series against them can change the team drastically she thinks.

"We can play comfortably well against any Asian side because we have a habit of playing against them. Like we know every small detail about Pakistan cricketers, how they play and all. How Indian players play. We haven't played against Sri Lanka for long, so now it's becoming difficult. We haven't played badly against South Africa because we do play against them pretty frequently," Rumana said in an interview to a leading cricket website.

"This time, we played for the first time against Australia in the T20 World Cup. We didn't have any practical experience of playing against them except watching them on TV. So, if we play against them in a five-match ODI series, then it will become easier," She added.

The Tigress lost an easy match against New Zealand in the World Cup. Batting first, New Zealand were all out for 91 runs. While chasing Bangladesh finished their innings at 74 runs.

The all-rounder has also expressed her frustration about the against New Zealand they not only lost on pen and paper, they lost it through mentally also. The team never thought that as an impossible task, however, playing against a team with whome they had no experience was tough for them

"We lost it mentally. We never saw it as an impossible task, but the pressure still remains because we never played against them before. We didn't know how they would bowl. There's still the pressure of facing a heavyweight team, whom we (have) never faced before," She added.

Bangladesh also lost the match against Australia in this World Cup. Australia batted first and scored 189 runs for the loss of one wicket. In reply, Bangladesh scored 103 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.

The right-handed batsman also urged that how they are supposed to get ready make their body language perfect while they don't have any experience of playing with such heavyweight teams.

"This will naturally come. Like when we played against India, we have a different sort of body language and when we played against Australia, our body language became different. How can we play with our natural approach when we don't have the experience of playing against them before," Rumana concluded.
