Cricket is not only played in Dhaka- Shakib

Bangladesh Test and Twenty 20 skipper Shakib al Hasan said that improvement in infrastructure outside Dhaka must be prioritized in order to spread cricket all around the country.
According to Shakib, Bangladesh cricket is mainly focused on Dhaka and Chittagong but BC need to mobilize cricket facility all over the country to bring out the best talent
“We need to improve our infrastructure,’’ Shakib was quoted in a Bengali daily.
‘’In the just concluded tri-nation tournament, there is blackout 3 to 4 times and we need to improve on the matter,’’ he said.
We have to improve cricket outside Dhaka. Bangladesh cricket is not only played in Dhaka and Chittagong because there is Khulna, Sylhet and other venues,’’ he said.
We have to improve or infrastructure and our organizer should not only work with the national team. Said Shakib.
Shakib was also critical of the Mirpur indoor facilities as it is very tough to bat for long hours during summertime
‘’ Mirpur indoor condition not good because in the summer time, you cannot bat for more than 15 minutes. After telling in 10 years Mirpur Stadium has not set up any ac,’’ he said.
‘’When we see another country indoor we see lights and ac and it is very sad for us,’’ he said.
He also feels stadium in Khulna Chittagong and Sylhet need a proper gym running track and emphasized on building a world-class gym facility there.
