Bangladesh Cricket Board official said on Monday that they are confident that the upcoming Bangabandhu- Bangladesh Premier League won’t be a loss project.

Revenue might defer but we are not telling that it will be lost project,’’ BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus told reporters on Sunday.

‘’It might be in the break event point,’’ he said.

‘’Cricket Board will adjust the cost with them. For that reason board will provide or sponsor partner want to spend their money to bring good player, in that case the cost may be higher,’’ he said

‘’The previous franchises might contract whit a high profile player and if they want they can sell it to the new franchises. If any team want to make a good squad they can make it,’’ he said.

‘’The previous franchise’s most head coaches were foreign and also had some local coaches. They can come if they want. BCB and the franchises will decide this,’’ he said.

‘’This BPL is special because this year’s BPL we dedicate this our nation's father. So we didn’t think about how much we income from this. Whereas franchises are also investing on it so it might not be going into loss,’’ he said

BCB in a surprise move last month came up with the decision to not include the franchises for the seventh edition of BPL T20. This year’s tournament is to mark the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Instead the BCB will hold a T20 tournament managed by BPL Governing Council in a model similar to that of the Big Bash T20 in Australia. The T20 tournament for the season will be named after Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to mark his 100th birthday.

None of the six existing franchises dropped EOI (Expression of Interest) to participate in the ‘special edition’ of the BPL T20 as ‘team sponsors’ but Jalal added they have already spoken with four companies and will soon announce their name officially.

‘’Who gave us the EOI to us they gave interview us already. There are five companies who gave us EOI and four of them are confirmed, who we might take them. We discussed with them last week. There are four teams came here for an interview and three will come in the next three or four days for an interview. Then we will confirm seven teams,’’ said Jalal.

‘’The four sponsors are, Bangla Tiger IT, Akther Group, Sagar Corporation and a media company who might be buy a team then they will auction that. No previous franchises are in this BPL. Previous franchises didn’t apply, that’s why the four teams are confirmed. But nothing is final. But we will final that in this month,’’ he said.

‘’We don’t want the title sponsors but we will advertise that very soon and we believe we will getting that soon,’’ he said adding they are expecting the players draft in the first week of November.

‘’Player draft will start in the first week on November after we confirm our seven teams,’’ he said.

Jalal said that they are hoping that the franchises who had completed their first cycle of BPL will return next year.

‘’We already said that this is a special edition BPL. New franchise’s sponsor partner for just one year. We believe that previous franchises will return next year,’’ Jalal concluded
