The Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Monday that they will make a decision on jailed director Lokman Hossain in their next board meeting.

A Dhaka court on October 6 has sent Mohammedan Sporting Club’s director-in-charge Md Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan to jail, rejecting his bail petition in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Habibur Rahman Bhuiyan passed the order on Sunday after Tejgaon police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Kamrul Islam, also the investigation officer of the case, produced him before the court after completing his two-day remand.

Earlier. Metropolitan Magistrate Md Shahinur Rahman granted Lokman two-day fresh remand for the third time, in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act with Tejgaon police station.

On September 26, Rapid Action Battalion arrested Mohammedan Sporting Club Director-in-Charge Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan from his residence.

The raid at Lokman's residence came three days after another drive that shut down illegal gambling operations inside Mohammedan Sporting Club in Motijheel on September 23.

During the raid, police had seized two roulette tables, and nine betting boards from the sports organization. They also found 12 walkie-talkies, knives, and money counting machines.

When BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus was asked whether BCB will take any action against the defamed board director Lokman, he said it is a matter that will be tabled up in the next board meeting.

‘’Our board president cleared the air about Lokman Bhuiyan earlier and if he is found guilty he will be punished,’’ said Jalal.

‘’We are waiting [for the outcome of Lokman] and later the board will take a decision regarding him. In our next board meeting we will discuss about him,’’ he said.
