Bangladesh Premier League technical committee chairman Jalal Yunus said on Tuesday that there is a possibility that BPL might not start as per schedule as they have still a long way to go as far as finalizing the by-laws for the tournament is concerned.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board on September 11 announced to run the forthcoming edition of Bangladesh Premier League by itself after they failed to resolve the conflicts with the franchises.
According to the announcement made by the BCB president seventh edition of BPL, which is scheduled to start on December 6, will also be known as Bangabandhu BPL and it would be run by the board itself though there will be opportunity for leading companies to take part in the tournament by buying the sponsorship rights.

The announcement of Nazmul implies that the BCB will conduct a T20 tournament following a model similar to that of the Big Bash League in Australia. The T20 tournament for the season will be named after the father of the nation, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, to mark his 100th birthday.
Nazmul also added that they are hoping to start the new cycle of the BPL from 2020 with a proper long-term plan as they will now have the time to plan things out.
However, Jalal said that they are not sure whether they can host it on time or not because they have still lot of things to finalize.
‘’We have to set a new by laws for this reason we have a lot of work to do. We have to finish the draft by this month while we have to finalize the bylaws and the playing condition as well,’’ said Jalal Yunus.
Then there is players draft while we need to consider how the sponsors will join hands with us. If we can arrange everything than BPL will be staged on time otherwise it might be delayed,’’ he said.
