Seasoned campaigners questioned the quality of balls used in the National Cricket League and hoped to be provided with higher quality balls in the forthcoming domestic season.
The four-day domestic competition, NCL, is scheduled to begin from October 7, but the Bangladesh Cricket Board is yet to announce the tournament itinerary.

According to some of the regular faces of the first-class tournament, they are unhappy with the below-par quality of balls provided in the NCL as it is making the bowler job bowlers harder in barren wickets.
‘’I don’t know if I should say this or not, but it needs to be said. The quality of the ball is also very important,’’ Veteran pace bowler Mohammad Sharif told reporters in Mirpur on Saturday.
‘’The wickets are dry a lot of the times. So the ball gets soft very quickly. If we are not provided with good balls and wickets, you cannot expect a positive outcome,’ he added.
According to some cricketers, the balls often didn’t even survive the first five overs and all of them accused the organizers for handing them old and worn out balls.
‘’We play with the SG ball. But I don’t know if they are top level SG balls or not… Often, they give us old, leftover balls,’’ said a left-arm spinner.
