Mohammed Asharful said age should not be the criteria for selecting players.
BCB introduce fitness test facilities for domestic cricket from last year.f For the upcoming NCL fitness test is starting from October 1st for the players.

BCB allowed players to play in the domestic cricket with beep test of 9 to 9.5 but this year they have raised the bar of beep test to 11. Former national player Mohammed Ashraful believes age is no barrier in passing a fitness test.
‘’ Age is not the factor here as 35 or 20 years, whatever is anybody can pass the beep test. A lot of bowlers in Bangladesh got 8 or 9 in beep test and they can still bowl 16 to 18 overs. Beep test and match fitness is different. Every player’s fitness is different and we all have to pass the fitness test,’’ said Ashraful.
Asharful said his stint in the Kent league will help to prepare for the National Cricket League (NCL). He has played more than 30 to 40 matches in the Kent league which he hopes will benefit him in the upcoming season.
‘’ I think it will help me in the NCL. Most of the cricketers were not able to play during the off season. I have played 10 to 15 ODI matches and a total of 30 to 40 matches.”
