Rubel skips training

Bangladesh fast bowler Rubel Hossain has asked for four days leave from the national cricket board as he wants to stay beside his wife who is expecting to deliver in the upcoming week.

Rubel, who is in Tiger’s preliminary squad for the upcoming Test match against Afghanistan from September 5, will miss out four days of training which is till August 31 and will be available from September 1.
He had asked for leave as his wife is expecting to have a baby and we have granted him with the leave considering it is a very crucial juncture of his life,’’ chief selector Minhajul Abedin told reporters on Wednesday at the BCB premises.
Rubel played his last Test in July 2018 against West Indies. The right arm fast bowler has 33 Test wickets, 126 wickets in ODIs and 28 wickets in T20s.
