BCB confident of getting head coach ahead of Afghanistan series

Bangladesh Cricket Board is confident that they will appoint their new head coach of Tigers ahead of the home series against Afghanistan as the post went vacant following the departure of Steve Rhodes, after the last edition of World Cup.
The BCB officials conducted a tele-conference with few of the probable candidates and according to them they are at the last stage of appointing the new head coach of the national team.
“Even today [Wednesday] we have talked over phone with few of the probable candidates for the head coach post,’’ BCB’s media committee chairman Jalal Younus told reporters on Wednesday as some BCB high-ups sat in a meeting at Beximco.
‘’We are confident that we can be able to disclose the name of the new head coach within the next one or two days,” Jalal Younus said.
There were talks that former New Zealand head coach Mike Hesson is all set to become the Tigers new head coach and although the board were also keen to rope in the former Kiwi coach but according to the sources there are very slim chances for the 44-year-old to arrive Bangladesh who is among the shortlist candidates for the Indian head coach post.
Jalal however was not willing to make any comment over Hesson’s current state but he did said that the board is considering a strong vision and passion along with the financial aspect in recruiting the new head coach.
Former South African coach Russell Domingo already gave an interview with the BCB earlier this month where the board officials were satisfied over his plan and vision during the presentation.
